The Complete Guide To Derma Rolling

Dermarolling

It’s a natural healthy skin care technique in which 192 patented surgical-grade stainless needles penetrate the top layer of our skin by rolling a device called: Dermaroller above the surface of the skin.  As the needles are rolled at the surface of the skin, they create multiple microscopic injuries. These micro-injuries force the skin to naturally heal the injuries, resulting in the production of  the proteins elastin and collagen. Collagen and elastin are the two hormones that make up the supporting structure of the skin.  Elastin keeps the skin tight, while collagen gives skin its firmness.

In other words, the collagen provides the skin its strength and structure. It helps to form a fibrous network of cells, upon which new bouncy cells can grow. It also plays a major role in replacing and restoring dead skin cells.

Elastin has elastic, which allows the skin to maintain its shape after being stretched or contracted.

The micro-injuries can also be used as channels, allowing the skin care to go deeply into the skin.  The skin care doesn’t stay at the surface of the skin as usual, but it is best absorbed by the skin. Thus you get all the benefits of the skin care.

Dermarolling  is a new advancement in the world of cosmology as it was tried for the first time in 1994 by the cosmologists. Thanks to the miraculous results and the low quantity of side effects, the popularity of this procedure is nowadays increasing.

Benefits of Dermarolling

Many people are living in a world of myths that micro-injuries are painful. Micro-needling the skin results in bleeding and much more. These are just assumptions, as a matter of fact, dermarolling has tons of benefits as:

  • Stimulates the blood circulation
  • Boost the production of elastin and collagen
  • Stimulates the creation of new bouncy skin cells
  • Boost the rejuvanation of the skin
  • Provides the skin with resilience
  • Revives skin complexion’s firmness and plumpness
  • Reduces the appearance of wrinkles
  • Helps healing wounds
  • Reverses sun damage, sunburn, and reduces skin pigmentation
  • Tights and minimizes sagging
  • Helps to reduce enlarged pores
  • Helps in the healing of scars and stretch marks
  • Creates a pathway through which the skin care can be absorbed quickly and effectively

What to do BEFORE using your Dermaskin™

  • Exfoliate a day or two before using your Dermaskin, to help get the dead skins off. This makes it easy for the dermaroller as it pricks the pores directly.
  • Sanitize your dermaroller. Do this by using at least a 70% isopropyl alcohol. Pour it into a cup, and let your Dermaskin™ rest in it for 10-15mins. Then air dry it for 5mins.
  • Cleanse thoroughly your stomach/glutes/thighs: You want to make sure that the surface you will use your Dermaskin on,  is free from any oil, cream, powder, dirt… Therefore, use lukewarm water to efficiently wash your stomach/glutes/thighs.

It is important to clean your skin thoroughly to avoid infection.

What to do DURING the use of your Dermaskin™?

  • Always make sure your skin is moist and hydrated during your dermarolling session. Use natural essential oils!
  • Maintain a short movement when rolling either vertically, diagonally, or horizontally.
  • Roll gently for about 3-5mins per session.

Do not apply any pressure! The Dermaskin is made to go in straight lines, so ensure to lift your roller when switching to different sections of your stomach or other body parts.

What to do AFTER the use of your Dermaskin?

Clean your Dermaroller thoroughly after use. Soak it in alcohol for about 5-10mins. Air-dry it and pack it in its container for the next session.

Let your skin to rest

TIP:

For your loose Skin/ Stretch Marks:

Use Bio-Oil / Vitamin C serum during the process and be a witness to the miracle of healing.

For your Face:

After a couple of hours, use a mild Vitamin C serum to help achieve an even skin tone and a radiant complexion.

Use the Dermaskin in the evening, as you will go to bed after a couple of hours, and let your skin rest while sleeping.

How Often are you supposed to roll?

It depends upon the diameter of the needle you are using and the sensitivity of your skin. The biggest the diameter of the needle, the less the frequency of dermarolling you have to do.

Here are the dermaroller needle sizes:

  • 2.00mm/1.5mm: These are the largest needles’ sizes for home derma rolling. These are used for saggy skin, deep wrinkles, stretch marks and scarring. It’s advisable to use this once every 3-4 weeks.
  • 1.00mm: This needle size can serve multiple functions of skin concern such as sunburn, pigmentation, shallow acne scars, stretch marks, and deep acne scars. It is advised to use this once every 4-6 weeks.

Think about your sensitivity while choosing the needles’ sizes.

Post-Dermarolling effects

You might feel a bit of discomfort (light pain, redness, and minor discharge from the skin) and even a little bit of blood, but this is normal. These symptoms don't demand any attention and are common after the micro-needling procedure.

If you feel your skin hasn’t completely healed up, please skip your next session. Self -healing is a natural process in derma rolling.

The results of this procedure are very promising and can be seen after using this procedure 2-3 times.

Contra:

Please do not roll if you:

  • are pregnant or breast-feeding the first months
  • have inflammatory acne and/or open sores on your skin
  • suffer from a dermatological disease and/or are prone to scarring
  • are hypersensitive to nickel
  • Have huge open wounds
